Summary: Solo business travel. I look for parking, wifi, work space, comfy bed, restaurant and a descent shower. There was parking, wifi was intermittent and slow, there was no where to work in the room, bed was awful, first impression meant I wasn't trying the restaurant and the shower was ok. The property looks like TLC is overdue and needed, lacks kerb appeal to the extent when you first pull up initial thoughts aren't positive. Does offer plenty of off street parking which was a bonus. Signs advise that the property is undergoing well needed renovation, however, the file in room 102 suggested this has been the case since 2023. Room 102....single glazed windows, road noise is an issue and the mattress can only be described as awful. Furniture is old, there is no area to work from, the guest book in the room offers a wifi connection that doesn't exist with a password that isn't needed - someone had kindly updated with a post it note hidden within the pages so access to a slow and intermittent signal was obtained. The ensuite is carpeted (really), felt old and tired, shower offered plenty of hot water but lacked enthusiasm. I have to congratulate whoever does the cleaning though, room 102 was spotlessly clean. I ate dinner in the Mughal Empire indian restaurant across the road which was very good.
