Positive: This place exceeded our expectations. The location is just perfect. From every window, you get an amazing view of the mountains and sheep grazing in the fields. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the lake. It's so quiet and peaceful everywhere, it feels like time has stopped. The cottage is way bigger than it looks in the pictures and we were pleasantly surprised by its decor. The kitchen is excellently equipped with all the necessary appliances, making cooking there a real joy. The living room has a large TV with access to streaming platforms, two comfy sofas and an electric fireplace. There's free wifi available in the house and the friendly owner has provided a little library filled with books about attractions and trails in the Lake District, so planning trips is super easy. You can enjoy meals at the family table and play some board games in the evening, which are also available. The bathroom is neatly decorated with a big bathtub. There are two beautifully furnished bedrooms with comfy beds, and the vanity in one of them is a great touch for any woman. The biggest impression on us was the large Drying room where you can dry wet clothes and shoes after a rainy hike. What a fantastic idea! We also have to mention the cat that sits on the kitchen window cill every day waiting for some scratches. Our autistic son was thrilled by it. We were sad to leave, so we’ll definitely be coming back. It’s really worth it.
