While seasonal restrictions apply, dogs can romp free on the beach during the rest of the year. A short, 200-metre stroll along the South West Coast Path rewards you with a sudden view of St Michael’s Mount at Marazion. The island is home to a medieval castle; depending on the tide, you can walk along the ancient causeway or hop on the ferry boat from Marazion (1.5 miles). From this charming village, you can walk or cycle along the 2-mile footpath to Penzance.
