Positive: Cute house in a quiet little neighborhood. There is plenty of room to accommodate 6 people. The owner left snacks and waters for us.
Negative: We had a difficult start checking in. We drove 6.5 hours to get there, only to be told by the owner that there was an issue with Booking.com — they hadn’t charged a cleaning fee, and there was supposedly a two-night minimum. The owner initially asked us to cancel unless we agreed to stay two nights. After some back-and-forth, they allowed us to stay for one night (as listed on Booking.com), but I had to pay an additional $120 cleaning fee. We checked in at 4 PM and left at 10 AM the next morning. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay two nights because we had work and school obligations on Monday. The situation was stressful since, for a while, we weren’t sure if we would have a place to stay. I wish the owner had been more understanding, as the confusion was out of our control due to how the listing was set up. That was an issue between booking.com and the owner and we were stuck in the middle of it all. . The property itself was generally clean, but the showerhead was dirty and the area under the sink had a funky smell. However, they did have a cute book exchange, which was a nice touch and added a bit of charm to the place.
