Positive: This was one of our favorite stays during our trip, and we would absolutely stay here again. The apartment was exceptionally clean—one of the cleanest accommodations we’ve stayed in. Everything was spotless and very well maintained, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location is outstanding for exploring Alta Badia and the Dolomites. The Piz Sorega lift is only a 3–5 minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for hiking and accessing the mountain trails. We used it several times during our stay. San Cassiano is also a charming village with a grocery store, gelato, and a handful of restaurants and other useful services. The property was a little difficult to find when we arrived after dark, as the driveway is easy to miss the first time and sits on a fairly steep hill. Once we found it, however, access was easy and there was plenty of convenient parking. The grounds are beautiful and perfect for families. The alpacas roaming the property were a fun surprise, there is a nice play area for children, and the friendly Border Collie quickly became a favorite with our kids. They loved spending time outside, which gave the adults a chance to relax after long hikes. The owners were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful throughout our stay. The sauna was another unexpected highlight and was wonderful after spending the day hiking in the mountains. The only minor drawbacks were that the refrigerator is a little small if you’re stocking up on groceries for several days, and some optional amenities, such as the microwave, ironing equipment, and laundry service, may have an additional charge. There isn’t a self-service laundry on site, but we found a convenient coin-operated laundromat about 15 minutes away beyond La Villa. Overall, this is an excellent base for exploring the Dolomites.
