Summary: We stayed in a Japanese room with futons on the floor. It was very dated , maybe there other rooms are better. We struggled to get more than a trickle of hot water from the tap. We were half board and experienced traditional Japanese food. We are glad we tried this . The staff spoke English and were friendly and helpful. The Kurobe valley is beautiful. We are monkeys from our hotel window.
