Positive: Our host was exceptionally helpful. She sent all sorts of useful recommendations to us in advance. The restored early 19th Century ceiling mural above the bed was a beautiful sight to wake up to each morning. The bed was extremely comfortable. The flat was immaculately clean.
Negative: The host is clearly proud of her newly revamped flat. I really wanted to like it (not least because of the ceiling). But… I don’t like a non private open plan shower. And I really really DO NOT LIKE an open plan doorless wc. I mean who’d want that?…. I recommend the host puts in shower curtains and a wc door asap! There’s only one chair to sit and watch tv. A pair of armchairs would have been nice. The flat isn’t close to the city centre. It’s a 20/25 minute walk away - not something you’d want to do at night. Buses are unreliable. We avoided the local taxis and used the ‘black cab’ option on Uber to travel from the flat to the town centre. They were quick to arrive, comfortable, and reliable but pricey - between 15 and 25 Euros each way depending on the time of day.
Summary: Lovely host. Open plan WC (yuk). Beautiful ceiling.
