Summary: Very affordable, but not worth steep discount when compared to other accommodations nearby. The dormitory/apartment setting is very noisy as the rooms are not adequately insulated, and the property is in disrepair. One of the rooms I reserved had an inoperable toilet, and the shower head was disconnected from the hose. If you are a backpacker on a strict budget and are used to hostel-type accommodations this may be tolerable, especially if you plan to spend most of your time off property. But something much more accommodating (with secure entry, included breakfast, working amenities) in downtown Tacloban will only cost you 1000 PHP / 15 USD more per night.
