19th-century villa that has been completely renovated, located in the hills just west of the city of Florence. All around there are cultivated fields, vineyards and olive-tree groves. The villa is ideal for a group of friends or a large family who want to visit Florence in the morning, but in the afternoon and evening prefer the cool fresh air in the garden and near the swimming pool. For horse lovers there is an equestrian center nearby that organizes excursions in the surrounding hills. Available to the guests is a fenced-in garden with swimming pool (5x10, 1.2-2.1 m deep) (01/06-30/09 open from 09.00 am to 9.00 pm) and a beautiful gazebo for outdoor dining with barbecue and sun umbrella. The villa also has an area for dogs that is shaded by the olive trees and borders the pool area. The interiors are furnished with comfortable furniture from the late 1800s and the walls are painted in warm pastel colors. For the safety of guests the accommodation has a safe and an alarm system. Available on request: extra linen change, maid service, guided tours of the wine cellars, cook. The villa has central heating, Wi-Fi internet connection and air conditioning. Large covered parking for two cars. Attention: possibility of charging an electric vehicle on request and upon payment. For a two-weeks stay, possibility of cleaning at the end of the first week on Saturday (beds and bathrooms): € 130.00.

Summary: Villa as advertised. Good price. The onsite managers (Yari and Mateo) were very nice and helpful. Positives: Secluded. Quiet, except for neighborhood dogs. Close enough to Scandicci and tram to Florence. Good restaurants in Scandicci and grocery shopping at COOP. No ice maker so buy ice at COOP. Negatives; Mosquitoes after the rain. Keep the doors closed. Most windows have mosquito screens. No dryer. DO NOT USE HI SPEED SPIN to dry clothes. It wrinkles them. Electricity is expensive so use AC sparingly. The recent rain and mosquitoes made it difficult to use the beautiful outdoor tables and pool. Use the lower (older) Via di Mosciano to get to the property. Veer left at Anastasia Bistrot (which looks like an Asian restaurant but it isn't) then one right turn at the stack of road signs when close to the property. We only had one English speaking channel (BBC).
