A 20-minute road trip, or a little longer via steam railway, gives access to equally fascinating Totnes, offering the opportunity of river trips to Dartmouth. The South Devon coast with its many different beaches and towns is about a half an hour’s drive.
The gardens are accessible to guests, but the flowerbeds and terraces adjacent to the main house are private. No loud music is to be played outside. Waste bags should be left in the parking area on Monday evenings, ready for collection the following morning.

Summary: We had a lovely week away to relax after the mad Christmas rush. We spent the week walking the moors and "The Stables" was kitted out with pretty much everything we needed (could do with a mop to clean up after muddy paw prints). Overall, it was an idyllic location and property with a lovely, cosy home feel and well-thought-out amenities for guests. The log burner was the cherry on the cake after a rainy day out.
