Travel Purpose: business

Positive: What a wonderful stay. The property is tucked away in a gorgeous little village on the east coast of the island. We followed the directions in the welcome pack which included the What3Words location and with the help of Google Maps we found it easily. The house is just as lovely as the photographs show. The downstairs has one bedroom and the gorgeous wet room which will accommodate anyone who can’t manage the stairs. There are stunning views from the upstairs bedrooms across the village and out over Loch Grimshader which is particularly picturesque. There was a lovely welcome pack prepared for us with home-made oatcakes and our lovely host, Carol, even managed to secure us some local organic eggs which we had for breakfast the next morning. There is ample parking immediately adjacent to the property. The beds were all very comfortable and extra blankets were available which we did not need. The property has been newly refurbished with two fabulous bathrooms, each with large illuminated mirrors which are fab. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need although in the end we did very little cooking. This property is perfect for a good night’s sleep. There is hardly any traffic, just the occasional bleating sheep or a dog woofing from a neighbouring property. From here we were able to comfortably explored the island to the north and south and there is plenty to see from the Callanish Stones to the Butt of Lewis lighthouse and all the stunning beaches the island has to offer. I did spend one day at home and after a morning walk through the winding curves of the village, I took advantage of the extensive library and spent a very restful afternoon on the recliner reading and sipping tea. Bliss. A rare pause in the normal pace of modern life. There is no shortage of eateries and cafes in Stornoway which is just 15 minutes drive away. We stayed for three nights but next time we book, we will definitely stay long
