Riverview is a comfortable 4 bedroom self contained property providing accomodation for 10 people, in a wonderful, quiet, countryside setting. Nestled within the owner’s 7 acre plot of rural life and woodland. It is located on the River Torridge and features a 1/2 mile stretch which can be used by guests for trout and salmon fishing. Step inside and you will discover a stylish modern interior. At the centre of the home is a well-equipped open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Ideal for home cooking and spending time together. To one side are 2 beautifully proportioned bedrooms and a family shower room (accessed by 2 small steps). A large master bedroom with its king sized bed features glass patio doors opening onto a private balcony. Overlooking the river Torridge and rolling hills beyond, a perfect retreat to enjoy the sunset and alfresco dining. You may even see otters and kingfishers! The bedroom on this side of the lodge is a comfortable double overlooking the gardens.There is also a utility area with a washing machine and freezer. There are a further 2 bedrooms, both of which are ensuite. These are accessed from the other end of the open plan area (accessed by 2 small steps). Each bedroom features a double bed with a single bunk above. This gives a perfect separation between families sharing the space, or perhaps children and adults! In front of the lodge is a decked area and access to the gardens and river. The perfect place to soak up the tranquil atmosphere and completely unwind. There is access to the river- the depth and speed varied hugely depending on the time of year but is great fun to swim in, paddleboard and kayak. Use of this is entirely up to guests discretion and the hosts take no responsibility. There is a supply of children’s books and games to keep them entertained when they’re not exploring the great outdoors. Linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. Pets are welcome and the wonderful dog friendly beaches at Blackrock and Croyde are a short drive away at 30 minutes and 60 minutes respectively. Being rural means mobile reception is variable, what better excuse to switch off your mobile and leave modern life behind for awhile! Black Torrington is the nearest village ½ a mile away, it has an award winning pub that serves lovely meals. Neighbouring Sheepwash has another lovely pub and local shop. Dartmoor National park is within easy reach, as are incredible beaches and coastal walks. The closest beaches are at Bude on the north coast. These include Summerleaze with it’s sea pool and golden sand; Crooklets with a surf club; Widemouth bay/Blackrock with a stunning stretch of sand and surf and Northcott for rock climbing and cliffside walks. The holiday let is attached to the owner's primary residence. Your privacy during your stay is our priority. Access is via lock box. There is private parking for 3 vehicles.
