This is a spectacular, blue-shuttered house featuring glorious, double aspect views of the town rooftops and the foothills of the Pyrenees.
It was totally re-designed by a French Architect who created this modern haven of air, light and space.
Fabulous south-facing views from the bedrooms and living area. Large upper terrace to dine and view the world. Downstairs bedrooms have a lower terrace with garden and plenty of seating and seclusion.
Up to the minute, top quality fixtures and fittings and new improved beautiful wooden flooring throughout; well appointed in every aspect and very comfortable. A clean and uncluttered house.
Master bedroom suite with stunning view, and
six-foot wide bed; a long double wardrobe, dressing area through to large bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, bidet , toilet and two separate sinks.
Lower garden level has two double bedrooms with Queen sized beds. One bedroom has
en-suite bathroom with shower/bath; two separate sinks, bidet and toilet. Bedroom has direct access to terrace.
Second bedroom has en-suite shower with sink and toilet. These two bedrooms share a very large wardrobe and both have an armchair in the bedroom. This also has direct access to the lower terrace.
A fourth bedroom has a Queen sized bed and has an en-suite bath/shower with toilet; bidet and sink. There is also a guest toilet.
The kitchen is part of the very large open plan dining and living area. Well stocked and equipped with plenty of everything for the chef.
Large dining table with double aspect view and reflections from a large mirror over one of the sofas. Comfortable seating in sitting room and in each bedroom.
Upstairs there is a den area with television and dvd player. Several games are available.
With a small, private pool warmed by the summer sun - a perfect holiday and a real home. The pool is cleaned twice weekly in the summer months. This private pool (a rarity in Collioure) has a removable hard cover for safety and is covered by a security light at night. It is small:
12 feet by 8 feet and a constant depth of 4 feet. It is an oasis for hot summer months.
There is also a barbeque (not on the wooden terrace) for outdoor eating. The garden is a place of many different areas and levels.
We have a personal meet and greet Property Manager (Gavin) to welcome guests to the house.
Collioure is a year round town where the weather is a micro-climate of sunny winter days and hot summer days. The crisp winter skies are filled with stars and the summer skies are Vermillion red. You can drive to ski resorts in just over two hours or spend spring days walking the foothills. Behind our house is a nature reserve full of wild flowers and a view that is breathtaking - 360 degrees of mountains, sea, town, hills and flowers. This is a unique paradise all year.
The town and market: The market arrives in Collioure on Wednesday and Sunday and provides an excellent meeting point for locals and visitors alike. There is entertainment almost every day in the summer from musicians to dancers and clowns and food festivals and everyone is made to feel welcome. Collioure is famous for anchovies and rarely a week goes by in the summer without an anchovy fete! The area is also famous for its cherries, apricots, peaches and of course grapes which arrive in abundance and scent the air with their perfume. Perhaps sit on the beach and let the peach juice dribble down your chin or the cherries turn your mouth blue!
Quieter times: Outside the peak holiday times Collioure is a glorious place to wander gently around with cafes on the beach and to enjoy the views of the famous bell tower. Around the town are strategically placed frames which illustrate the point of painting for the famous pictures of Matisse, Derain, Picasso and Mackintosh. There are beautiful drives to take into the hills and the chance to visit the many wine tasting vineyards. There is a wonderful petit train that climbs the tiny road to the top of the hill and around the vineyards and back to Collioure - it's amazing fun and leaves from the parking area just by the bridge in the town centre on the hour.
