Summary: After a terrible check-in and first night-- resulting in wrong room ( poor/mis communication, confusing listing) for which the owner generously and quickly compensated us, WE HAD ONE OF THE BEST LODGING EXPERIENCES OF OUR MONTH IN JAPAN .The private rooms -- with large common area,are modern, immaculate, and larger than other Japanese rooms in which we stayed in our month in Japan. And they seem even larger because of the very spacious and flowing common area. Not only does it afford wonderful cooking opportunities, but because the wonderful manager ( HIDEKCHI [?], is an excellent chef, he can prepare excellent authentic meals VERY reasonably SUMMARY: It is a comfortable, great place, fairly priced for a single, or a couple, for a few nights or even longer. When we return to more extensively explore HOKKAIDO , we hope that Matsui's rooms are available to use as a base.
