Our 1800s cabin makes your cares slip away in time as you enjoy the Clinch River! Without the stress of Wi-Fi and cell service you can relax fishing, kayaking or listening to the nearby river shoals. There are hiking trails nearby and "River Place on the Clinch" is about 4 miles away.
This land was settled by our family in the late 1700s and was owned by distant cousins for generations. We bought the property, which then had a weatherboard farm house, to discover the early 1800s logs underneath. At once we set about restoring the original 18'x24' cabin made of chestnut logs which is now the main room. The kitchen and bathroom/laundry are made of a second cabin which was also on the property. Much care has been taken to carefully label and number the logs, disassemble the cabin, complete grade work and pour footers to restore the cabin. We have furnished the cabin with antiques where appropriate, while adding modern amenities such as central heat/air, modern kitchen with appliances and granite countertops, bathroom with tub/shower combo and laundry facilities. It's been our family's great joy to spend summer afternoons kayaking and fishing here, fall family gatherings, special birthdays and even some snow sledding. Now that our children our young adults, it is time for us to share our little piece of paradise with our guests. We cannot wait to share it with you!
