Renovated Private End Unit location with Ocean Views | Condo in Maunaloa

1 Bedroom Condo in Maunaloa
Many of the properties in Ke Nani Kai are not as private as the location of this ground floor unit. Views of open hillsides, with beach and ocean views, make this a prime location at this complex. There are no other buildings across the parking lot from this one, providing you with unobstructed and cooling trade winds.
Being an end unit, this has large south side sliding glass doors that extend your views to the south, as well as a lanai that wraps around the unit. Since this is the last building in the row, facing the ocean, there is no neighbor on the south side.
The renovation includes porcelain tile throughout the unit, with newer kitchen cabinets and counter tops. As with all end units, there is even an additional window in the kitchen bringing plenty of south facing light throughout the day.
The king sized mattress is new, as are all of the linens in the unit.
Ke Nani Kai has the best pool complex on the island, with a large pool deck area with new outdoor furniture, and a large spa. There is also a covered picnic area with a gas grill to prepare meals at. Next to this area are the tennis courts. This is the only group of condos that have tennis courts on this side of the island.
Speaking about "this side of the island", it is the West side. This is where you want to be. Everyone knows that this is the driest and sunniest part of the island, with the longest white sand beaches within walking distance of the condo. You will often find yourself with the beach being your own, or shared by the lucky few. Summer time is particularly beautiful at the beach, as the ocean is generally calm, with varying shades of blue and aqua green. In the winter, the other parts of the island often get showers, while the West side remains sunny and dry, with a constant cooling trade wind.
Come and experience an island of little change, retaining its Hawaiian culture as seen in every day life. People are reserved, but very friendly, once you reach out to them with a smile, and the traditional greeting of "aloha". There are only 7000 residents here, on an island over 40 miles in length. There is little traffic, and certainly no sense of being crowded. There is not even one traffic light, because there is no traffic to control! The main town of Kaunakakai is about 25 minutes away, where you find two large grocery stores, a wine and liquor store, two banks, two gas stations, two hardware stores, and an amazing ice cream shop.
There is a Saturday market here featuring flowers, food, crafts, and music.
There is a wonderful organic farm, Kumu Farms, which has a fruit, vegetables, flowers, local island beef products, as well as imported pastas and sauces.
There is a livestock cooperative, open to the public, offering all cuts of grass fed local beef, at very reasonable prices.
Many people have made Thursday morning at the coffee plantation lanai a weekly stop. Here, local kupuna (elder members of the community) play their favorite music, often joined by others who have their own ukulele, and know how to play it! A fun time is had by all, and it is a gathering place for all of the people on the island.
There are large areas of primitive forest and coastline that are preserved and cared for by the Nature Conservancy. They provide guided tours which offer views of things that you will only find on Molokai.
There is a cultural hike through ancient taro fields, on the picutresque East end of the island. Here you walk thorough forest and stream, until you reach the multi tiered Halawa Falls.
Molokai is also home to the longest and ecologically rich barrier reef in all of the Hawaiian Islands. You can snorkel here, in pristine clear water, escorted by one of the many boat captains, and tours are available. Fishing and whale watching are also top on the list here.
This is a place of beauty, where one can escape the masses of tourists you find on other islands, while enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery and spectacular beaches. Once you come and visit, it will become a habit. Many people spend the winters here, and enjoy the social activity that is available with aloha.
Ke Nani Kai is the place you want to make your "home" spot. It is a quiet place, with smiling faces, and people offering advice on things to do and see. Remember, you can decide to just sit on the beach with the monk seals, catching up on your reading, or taking a nap in the gentle breezes, alongside spectacular ocean scenery.
COME LIVE ALOHA!
