Imagine spending some time in a peaceful mountain setting only about 1.6 kilometers from town ! Casa de Bella Vista is an ideal retreat for you. From the 2 car attached garage, guests pass through the large open terrace to the main door. Here, you have the living & dining rooms as well as the fully furnished kitchen. The kitchen has refrigerator, 6 burner gas stove (with oven), microwave, coffee maker, plates, cups, utensils etc.
We provide good (free) WiFi coverage.
The dining area is set up with a round dining table and 4 chairs. The living room has sofa, chair, coffee table and TV.
The main bedroom has queen size bed, 2 night tables with lamps, dresser& mirror. The adjacent walk-in closet is large and is equipped with a wardrobe cabinet. The attached bathroom has vanity, toilet and shower.
The den is ideal for the extra guest. It has a sofa bed and wardrobe cabinet. Outside the kitchen, there is a back porch. The washer & dryer is located next to this porch. A 30 gallon hot water tank ensures good hot shower.
The terrace has one of the most beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Guests have a direct view of Volan Baru. The clouds are simply amazing. We named it Vista Nube' because of it. The seasonal stream runs behind the house.
The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is safe ( use normal precautions as anywhere else). There is a shortcut to town. Going down is easy. Coming up, one will get enough exercise for the day !
There are several fincas (small farms)as well as large coffee plantations in the neighborhood. Guests can do the normal hiking in and around the neighborhood.
The house is located in Jaramillo Centro, about 1.6 km from town. Taxi fares range between $5 - 7 per one way. Several of the taxi drivers do speak English. If guests are planning tours, we can suggest reliable and courteous tour operators. A trip to the town of Volcan passes through amazing scenery. One of the main attractions in Volcan is Cerra Punto and finca dracula ( a beautiful orchid garden).
The taxi fare from David airport is between $ 35 - 45. We can suggest reliable operators to pick you up and drop off.
On Tuesdays, there is a communal market sponsored by the expats living in and around Boquete. Here, you can mingle with expats as well as local people and buy all sorts of things.
Our garden is in progress. We have planted several banana & coffee trees as well as a variety of flowers and shrubs.
We, the owners ( Lucy & John), use the 2nd floor as our occasional getaway place ! We share our time between Tampa (Florida) and Boquete.
Our co-hostess, Ruby McKenzie, has lived in Boquete for more than 20 years. She has a wealth of knowledge about Boquete and surrounding areas. She (along with other expats) is active in volunteer work.
In the town, there are department grocery stores as well as small vendors selling fruits & vegetables. We typically spend no more than $ 20 for our weekly fruits & vegetables. Chiriqui province has some of the best tasting fruits.
