3 Bedroom Cabin in Dubois

2 BR/1 BA + enclosed bunk room/sun porch.....Original cabin built by the Scandinavian Tiehacks in the early 1940's during the timber/logging operations for the early railroads. It is one of the few in the area with indoor plumbing and electricity (the original outhouse is still outside). It has been updated with modern conveniences and all the comforts of home. The kitchen still has the original cast iron/wood cookstove (along with a newer gas stove for your convenience). The river rock fireplace in the center of the cabin was built with local materials and even has a piece of petrified wood. The large deck is perfect for grilling fresh caught trout in the stream that runs along the side of the cabin or 2 miles up the road in Brooks Lake. There are 2 queen bedrooms, a sun porch with 2 twins and a double sleeper sofa in the den to accommodate up to 8. Enjoy wildlife sightings - not a day goes by that we don't see moose, elk, deer or a bear. Enjoy s'mores around the campfire by the stream (but make sure to douse it with buckets of water before retiring for the evening). The cabin is located inside the Shoshone National Forest (the nation's 1st national forest) so grab your trail maps and explore the hundreds of miles of trails by foot, XC skis, snowshoe, atv, snowmobile or auto. Always carry your fishing rod/tackle when you can as there are hundreds of hidden mountain lakes just waiting for you to wet your hook. Firewood is stacked for your use (try your hand at rustic living by splitting more to replace what you use.....many thanks!) This cabin is only available a few weeks each year as allowed by the National Forest Regulations, so inquire early and be one of the select few to enjoy it!! **Check out is at 10am SHARP. Guests remaining after that will be charged for an additional night which will be withheld from the refundable $1,000.00 security deposit, with the balance returned to the guest post-stay pending departure inspection by management.
