Pacific View Cottage, your cozy updated getaway, features a king sized bed, spacious bathroom, a view of the ocean and many local touches like by California artists and authors.
Soak in the calm at the cottage or head out to explore all Cambria, Big Sur, Morro Bay and Paso Robles Wine country have to offer. Many take in the trails at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, go wine tasting, whale watching, hike in Big Sur, peruse the Farmers Market, visit Hearst Castle, drive to Ragged Point, view the elephant seals, visit art exhibits, enjoy stunning scenic drives, eat at local restaurants or just enjoy the quiet at the cottage to rest, read and reflect.

The cozy foggy mornings and gorgeous sunsets are dynamic and worth soaking in.
If you enjoy walking- the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve Trails, an ocean access way with stairs and also Lampton Cliffs Park are all within quick walk or 1 minute drive. Everything else, including Moonstone walkway, downtown Cambria shops, restaurants and galleries are just a 5 to 8 minute drive.
*This property was the home of Jo Werts, a beloved local artist, who built the property in the 1960s and lived here for decades. Werts' influence is felt in many ways on the property and we hope to honor her by enjoying the beautiful property she built and by celebrating and supporting local art and local businesses. The Pacific View Cottage has been modernized with brand new bathroom, electrical and a mini split for AC/heat.

Robin's Restaurant for delicious cuisine and a stunning garden. Book a reservation in advanced and request garden seating. The Robin's Chow, Ahi Nachos, Watermelon Salad, Short Rib and Sweet Trio Dessert are the current favorites in our household. *Robin's offers several GF and/or Veggie entrees. Their Sunday brunch is great, too.
Celebratory dinner or want to indulge in a gorgeous dinner out just because: Brydge Restaurant. Splurge and get one of the meals for 2 and a couple sides. Truly an experience. The desserts, speciality bread and wine list are worth your time, too.
The Shops at the Garden Shed and a latte from Lily's coffee is an ideal combo. See the unique plants, little art shops and be sure to check out the unique selection of books and cards at the Ocean Heir boutique.
Ragged Point - Big Sur: The drive is gorgeous, you might even spy some elk or elephant seals along the way. Park at the Ragged Point Inn and grab a cup of coffee, a bakery treat and walk around a bit. So many photo worthy spots both on the drive and at Ragged Point. On the way back, stop to see the elephant seals at the overlook or swing by Moonstone Beach for a seaside walk.

The French Corner Bakery for all manner of tasty treats in Cambria
Sebastian's in San Simeon for sandwiches and local gift shop followed by oceanfront wine tasting at Hearst Ranch San Simeon. *Book ahead for a wine tasting as they often fill up on busy weekends.
Local Drives and Excursions - whale watching with Morro Bay Whale Watching and enjoy some beach time on the long strand at Morro Bay Beaches before or after your excursion.
Montana de Oro State Park is another amazing spot. Go early to beat the crowds and then swing by Taco Temple in Morro Bay or Hidden Kitchen in Cayucos for lunch.
Morning walks at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve and Evening walks at Moonstone around sunset are a whole Cambria vibe.

Pacific View Cottage is a separate studio retreat with a private southwest facing deck- located above the garage on the property shared with the Main house. There are no shared walls with the main house.
Pacific View Cottage has air conditioning, newly remodeled bathroom, a Nespresso Machine, an electric tea kettle, microwave, mini frig, bed linens, hair dryer, shampoo, shower gel and local bar soap, towels, beach towels, wifi, books, games, yoga mat, extra blankets, new King bed in Fall 2025 and of course a few little snacks and bottled waters.
The studio does not have a full kitchen.The studio does have a microwave, a mini frig, a Nespresso machine with pods, a tea kettle and generous tea selection. The cottage is best suited for someone not looking to prepare hot meals at the cottage, as there is not a hot plate nor oven. We can suggest many amazing restaurants with take away / pick up options, if needed. Both Soto's True Earth Market and the Cookie Crock grocery have pre made salads, sandwiches, yogurts, snacks and so forth.
The Pacific View Cottage studio is in a separate building from the main house. No walls are shared with other residential space and you have 2 private entrances. Guests love this space for 3 day weekend. Inquire about early check ins and late check outs. We will accommodate whenever possible.
House rules and disclosures: This property is suitable for 1-2 adult guests. Check in time is 3pm-7pm on your arrival day and Check Out time is by 12pm noon on your departure day. You can use the driveway for parking. Inquire about early check in options a week before you arrive, if interested. No pets. We are not insured for pets in the studio and cannot accept pets. We live on a quiet street and guests agree to respect quiet/er hours of 8pm-7am. We love our neighbors and the peaceful vibe of the neighborhood. If you are wanting a party spot, this is definitely not it. :) We do NOT offer a zero contact check in at this time and we are happy to wear masks if requested. We understand the importance of doing what we can for immuno compromised guests and others in reducing exposure to flus and bugs. We will show you to the unit, give you the keys and, if you prefer, we can be contactless from that point forward. You can message us with any questions while you are here. We DO have security cameras and security features on the property. We do NOT have any cameras inside the Pacific View Cottage. We respect your privacy. Cambria water, as with most of California, is limited and very expensive. We respectfully request that you limit showers to 10 minutes as we navigate water issues in this area. Thank you so much for understanding. We appreciate it. You booking with us is an agreement to these rules and disclosures. If you are staying for more than 2 nights, we are happy to exchange/replace your towels, mugs, wine glasses, if needed. Let us know a time between 10am-2pm to replenish your items, as we do not wish to disrupt your stay.
