Summary: We spent five days in Santa Marinella at Villa Ludovica and we wish we could have stayed more. The villa is located inside a complex safely gated so that our children could be outside with little supervision.It only took us 30 minutes to reach it from Fiumicino Airport and the directions were ever so easy. When we arrived we were greeted by lovely Monica who immediately made us feel at home and gave us plenty of tips for the days ahead. Our villa was very clean, had a big open plan kitchen,dining and double reception rooms.All felt and was indeed, very spacious. The bedrooms were also very big with nice linen,comfortable beds and useful wardrobes.It was also nice to have two bathrooms, towels were also provided. Every morning after break fast ,after been greeted by the many friendly dogs that live within the villas(true joy for my boys) ,we went straight to the swimming pool which was always clean and nicely sheltered. The fact that it was all so comfortable made us a little lazy and we only ventured to the beach once.We also took a short trip to nearby Capalbio and the giardino dei Tarocchi.We wish we had more time to explore more as there is a lot to see around the area. In the evening for supper we tried the different restaurants that the owner had suggested: once in nearby Santa Severa, once in Santa Marinella and once in Civitavecchia.All three were superb.Food shopping was also very easy as there is a very well stocked supermarket 5 min drive from home. We truly enjoyed our stay at Villa Ludovica and we are planning to come back.
