Positive: We stayed at Leira at the beginning and end of our trip, arriving late on the first occasion and leaving early on the morning of our second visit. On both occasions, Ariel was a very kind and welcoming hostess who was happy to converse, despite my less than perfect French! The room was homely with a private bathroom and toilet and the bed was very comfortable. It was also useful to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Ariel provided a fabulous breakfast including homemade jams and banana bread and the setting overlooking the garden was beautiful. On our second stay, when we had to leave early, Ariel supplied us with a packed breakfast to take with us which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The location is close to Caen and the coast and was also very convenient for the Caen-Portsmouth ferry.
