Located near the tip of the Thunderbird Mountain peninsula, the views from our lakefront house are hard to beat. Watch the sunrise every morning from one of the 4 east facing decks, the comfort of the master bedroom, or the spacious living room. We have over 2200 sq ft of outdoor living deck space overlooking both the lake and National Forest, giving you plenty of options to gather with your group or relax alone. Adjacent to the dining room is a screened in porch with a dining table and propane grill. There is also an additional dining table outside on the top deck and inside at a bar with stools, overlooking the kitchen.
Inside you will find three levels of living space including a Master suite with King Size TempurPedic bed, two bedrooms with Queen size beds plus one day bed, and a bunk room with two sets of custom-made bunk beds. The Master Suite is on the main, top level, with a spacious bathroom and walk in closet. Both bedrooms on the middle floor have an ensuite bathroom and are adjacent to the media room. One bedroom has a private outdoor deck with a sectional sofa and also connects to the main deck. The third, bottom, floor has the bunk room and game room with a pool table, arcade game, mini fridge and full bath. The covered deck on this level has a gorgeous view, propane fire pit and lots of seating.
The beauty of Lake Santeetlah can be enjoyed inside from each room, as there are gorgeous windows throughout, but the real fun can be had on the huge decks, lakefront dock and exploring the lake via boat (rentals available at the Marina with advanced notice) or one of the SUP/kayaks that we provide.

Summary: There is a lot of good and bad here. The location and view here is why you rent this house. The layout was good in terms of giving you some separation when needed from kids, or couples. Rooms are a great sizes with very small but functional bathrooms. The dock is great and was great that it came with a couple of paddle boards and a kayak. Biggest safety concern was the top deck is about 30+ feet drop to the ground and the wire railings were over 6 inches apart. If you don't have any small children with you then it isn't a concern but if you do it is a major concern. They really need to add another wire in the middle up there as that is definitely not to code. Second thing is the fire place hearth jets out right where you walk out of the primary bedroom. It is only a problem because it sticks up about 1.5-2 inches above the floor. Really bad design and caused several hurt toes. There is a buckle in the flooring in the kitchen that everyone constantly tripped and stubbed there toe on that needs to be fixed. Now for some maintenance issues. Some of the screens on the screened in porch are not there. About 30% of the lightbulbs are out. There was no starter soap or shampoo and the toilet paper was minimal to start and the house felt unclean to be honest. Coffee pot and several dishes were dirty, so we washed everything. Still had a great time just needs to put a little effort into this to make the guest experience a great one. You can tell the bare minimum is done here.
