Spacious country house with a terrace and a garden, amidst vineyards with a magnificent view
At an altitude of 400 metres, in the small village of Montabone in the hills of southern Piedmont, lies this beautiful country house. Without any direct neighbours, amidst vineyards where wines as famous as Brachetto, Barbera and Docetto are produced, it is an ideal place to relax far away from noise and hecticness, while discovering the Ligurian and Piedmont wine gastronomy.
The stone house was completely renovated in 2010. The 200m² of living space, spread over two floors, provides ample room for five people. Enjoy the atmosphere of the house, whose interior reflects the colours of the south. On the ground floor there is the large, very well-equipped kitchen with an American fridge, marble sink, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove with a marble work top, and a large oven. In the middle there is a central work surface made of wood. A rounded arch leads into the adjoining dining room with a beautiful, open fireplace. The lower bathroom has a bath, a large shower, a toilet and a bidet. Next to it there is a small room with a washing machine and a dryer. Another large room serves as a storage room, with a large cupboard, an ironing board and iron, and if required also a small sofa bed. Wide stairs lead up to the first floor, which has a spacious, comfortable living room with satellite TV (Astra & Hotbird), a fireplace and a three-seater sofa bed (sleeping surface 140 x 190cm) with an armchair. The second bathroom has a shower, toilet and bidet. Up here there are also the three bedrooms. The first is a big bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200cm), the second is large with two single beds (each 80 x 200cm), which can also be joined together as a double bed, and finally there is a room with a single bed (80 x 200cm). Two supplementary beds are also available. There is an air-conditioning unit in the living room, but the stone house is also pleasantly cool indoors even in the summer. It is heated by means of gas heating and two fireplaces. Firewood is provided.
The house has an 800m² plot of land with fruit trees in the garden, and two large, furnished terraces. One is right by the house, is roofed and has a charcoal barbecue that can be used on summer evenings. The other measures 100m² and from its deckchairs you can enjoy the lovely view of the surrounding vineyards, the hilly landscape and the Ligurian Apennines. There is enough parking space available for three cars.
It is possible, at a supplementary cost, to have your shopping delivered during your stay. Breakfast or lunch can also be prepared for you on request, at a supplementary charge. The owners are happy to accompany you on visits to regional wine producers and to assist you with information and any queries you may have.
The small village has a grocery shop and restaurants. The surroundings are ideal for walks in charming countryside, or you can explore the area by bicycle. Nearby, 10km away, you can also find Acqui Terme.
