2 Bedroom Cottage in Kilmun, Sandbank

Heronlea Cottage is surrounded by an open parkland garden. A hub from which to explore the Cowal Peninsula.The cottage is surrounded by 4 acres of lawns and several acres more of woodland, many acres of forestry for walking and mountain biking. It is deceptively within walking distance of Dunoon, yet is totally secluded and tranquil. Hill walking directly from the property, Dunoon has lots of restaurants and facilities which includes 2 swimming pools , shopping, Botanical gardens. The wildlife is spectacular especially around the cottage, where you will regularly see birds of prey and deer the 1st floor lounge gives great view over the garden and you will often see the glorious wildlife which abounds in Argyll walk straight past the cottage.Please see our photographs for a better idea of what this cottage has to offer. Dunoon is on the Cowal Peninsular which includes many attractions and glorious walking landscapes, from Inverary at the north end of Loch Fyne to the Isle of Bute at the south .
There is a small lake in the garden we do ask that parents supervise their children outside . At certain times of the year when water birds are nesting we may restrict certain areas of the garden but you still have the view of it and there still will be large tracts of woodland and farmland available to walk .

Summary: Set in a beautiful location with immediate access to stunning views and amazing wildlife (deers, woodpeckers and red squirrels all seen in the garden), Heronlea is a tranquil spot. The walks across the mountains are great. Additionally, the closeness to shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance also meant this was a good spot. Get in the car and Benmore Botanical Gardens and Puck's Glen are also easily accessible. Drive around the coast, catch a ferry and a train into Glasgow, visit Bute and much more. The property itself is well thought out and the hosts are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this property.
