2 Bedroom Cottage in Bryson City

This cottage is the original home on our property, which sits right on the edge of the Tuckaseegee River in Bryson City, NC. It has been recently updated with furniture, appliances, paint, and even ceilings! It is a very simple, no frills unit, but it's comfortable and very clean. This cottage is 2 stories; the ground floor is the entry level and has a queen bed and a sofa that folds out to another queen bed. There is a 40 inch flat-screen TV opposite the sofa, but this is one large room so the TV can be used while in bed. The bathroom is also on the ground level.
Upstairs you will find a full kitchen with apartment sized appliances and basic cookware and small appliances. The bedroom upstairs can be closed from the kitchen area and contains a king bed, a 32 inch television and 2 large, cushioned chairs. The upstairs TV gets very limited channels but can be used to stream (we can loan you an HDMI cable if needed).
Outside, the cottage has it's own attached, covered, porch with a table and chairs, a charcoal grill, and an excellent river view! You have access to the river for fishing from our elevated river deck behind our motel or you can get directly to the water as well.
The property includes the cottage as well as a small motel and the owner's residence. The river deck and outdoor space, except for the cottage's porch, is shared with all customers so we ask everyone to be respectful of other guests.
You will either check-in at the motel's office to pick up keys or be instructed to get them from a lock box upon your arrival if you will arrive after 10 pm. The owners are on the property the majority of the time and can be reached for assistance if needed. The cottage will be stocked with towels and the beds will have clean linens upon your arrival. If you have booked more than a 4 night stay, your sheets and towels can be switched out for clean ones halfway through your stay. There is no laundry facility for guests to use on site, but a coin laundry is only about 1 mile away. You will also be provided with enough toilet paper, soap, and shampoo to start off but are expected to provide your own for longer stays. There is an Ingles Grocery Store a block away for your convenience.
Please note, the cottage is situated close to a road that is quite busy during the daytime. There is some road noise, especially upstairs, but it quiets down significantly at night. Guests have told us they leave the fan on even (if the AC or heat is not) and typically aren't bothered by the cars at all. However, if you are a very light sleeper this might be a concern for you.
Small dogs are allowed for an additional fee per stay. Dogs must be kept on a leash while outdoors on the property and please clean up after them! They must be crated if you are leaving them alone in the cottage so please bring their crate or take them with you when you leave.
Your deposit is refundable and will be returned to you 7 days after check-out as long as there are no additional charges posted after you leave. Damage to the room or our property, destroyed items, and missing items, will all be charged to you at repair or replacement costs. Excessive cleaning, including washing dishes that were left dirty and not cleaned and put away, will incur an additional cost depending on the time spent getting the unit ready for the next guests.

Summary: We stayed here on the weekend of the 4th of July best spot to see the fireworks. Owner he was very nice. My Husband and I sleep upstairs which was fine, but our friends had the downstairs room that was next to the only bathroom they thought is was very dirty and carpet was musty very dirty they hated every minute staying there (we stayed for 3 nights) so with that was not a friendly experience.
