Summary: For our 5th wedding anniversary my wife and I decided we wanted to get a place on a lake for a long weekend; we opted to bring our dog and toddler along for the trip! Traveling from the Madison area this wasn't too long of a drive for us but it was far enough away and off the beaten path to make us feel like we were truly "up north". The cabin & amenities were all great and the checkin/checkout processes were very simple (thanks to Becky!). While it was too difficult to swim and fish right off the pier, there were plenty of nearby beaches and lakes to fish at in the Wautoma/Waupaca area so it wasn't an issue. We were able to enjoy some fires at night (even cooked some steak over the fire since they have a firepit with a swiveling grill), play some games they had in the garage, kayak, and relax outside to enjoy the peaceful lake/scenery. And plenty of great local dining options. Definitely would recommend this cabin to those looking for a quick and easy getaway!
