This immaculate home has a lovely mountain feel, while still being comfortable and tastefully decorated. "Cozy Mountain" offers tranquility and reprieve from your daily hectic life whether it be for an extended family get-together, a romantic get-away, or a weekend without the kids for 2-3 couples. Comfortably accommodates 8 guests. PLEASE NOTE AS STATED BELOW: hiking is free, but all other BC amenities are available to guest on a fee-per-use basis. These fees ARE NOT INCLUDED in the rental.
BIG CANOE is a spectacular gated mountain community just 1 hour north of Atlanta, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. There is plenty to do both inside the community and nearby.

DOWNSTAIRS DECK: Propane fire pit perfect for s'mores with four adirondack chairs.

All amenities are available to guests for individual fees that guests will be charged by the amenity. These fees are NOT INCLUDED in the rental. PLEASE PLAN AHEAD AND MAKE RESERVATIONS, as they fill up quickly, especially for golf and lake activities(pontoon boat/kayak/canoe rentals).
GOLF: Three championship nine-hole golf courses with mountain and lake views. Call 760 268-3323 for tee times and prices.
TENNIS/PICKLEBALL: 10 courts to choose from; 4 Har-Tru Clay Courts (outdoor), 2 ClayTech All-Weather Courts (outdoor), 2 Hard Courts (outdoor), and 2 Indoor Courts. 6 of the 8 total outdoor courts are lighted, and 4 are specifically designated for lighted Pickleball play. SWIMMING FACILITIES: one indoor pool at Fitness Center; one outdoor Swim Club on Lake Disharoon with beach and lake swimming; paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, volleyball, and a waterfall rock slide; and a third pool option in the Wildcat Area with a large kids play area and pavilion. Boating: As previously stated, THE BOAT RENTAL RESERVATIONS FILL UP QUICKLY. Please plan ahead and call to reserve as soon as(or even before!) you book your dates. Lake Petit accommodates quiet boating only(no gas motors).
Pontoon Boat Rental $30.00 /hour (2 hour minimum) (July 4 am $100.00 /hr/ pm $150.00/hr
Jon Boat $15.00/ hour (2 hour minimum)
Canoe $10.00/ hour (2 hour minimum)
Kayaks $15.00 per hour
Swimming is permitted off pontoon boats in a designated area between the marina, the island, and the bridge(basically just not near any lake-front homes). If you rent a pontoon boat, you may want to bring floats to hang-out in water.
FITNESS CENTER: features indoor pool, racquetball, exercise equipment, aerobics classes, snack bar and professional health services including: facials and massages. Call 706 268-3441 for hours of operation
HIKING: With over 8,000 acres, eight mountains and five lakes, the Big Canoe Resort is a wildlife sanctuary. Big Canoe has 22 miles of marked hiking trails that range from steep trails to paved hiking and bike riding trails. The main gate can provide maps of Big Canoe, and the Big Canoe fitness center has hiking maps of trails inside the property.
Wildcat Area Activities: Bocce Ball, Basketball, Soccer Field, Baseball Field, Walking Track, Dog Park, and Playground.
GENERAL INFO: Free WiFi, Cable tv, central A/C & heat, linens provided, towels provided(must stay in the house; please bring your own beach towels for water activities), iron/board, hairdryers, ceiling fans, complimentary starter household items include: starter shampoo/conditioner, hand soap, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, keurig pods, 2 trash bags/day, small dish soap.
Trash: CANNOT be placed outside due to bears. Must be stored in the house(there is a garbage can in the laundry room) until taken to the Recycling Center located near the North Gate exit.
There is no garbage disposal, which means all food/grease must be scraped into the trash cans. Please DO NOT wash food/grease down the sink drain.
PARKING: Driveway (vehicles must fit in the driveway area; may not be parked in Laurel Turn Circle)
Grocery Store: The Foothills IGA Market in the Foothills Shopping Center(70 Foothills Pkwy, Marble Hill, GA 30148) is located 15 minutes from the Cozy Mountain house.

-DIRECTIONS TO BIG CANOE-
VIA I-75 FROM ATLANTA: Go North on Highway 75 to 575. Hwy 575 becomes Hwy 515. At first traffic light, turn right onto Hwy 108. Continue on Hwy 108 for 2.2 miles to intersection of Hwy 108 and Hwy 53 (four-way stop). Continue through intersection onto Hwy 53. Follow Hwy 53 for 9 miles. Turn left onto Steve Tate Hwy (Chevron Station). Entrance to Big Canoe is approximately 1.5 miles on left.
VIA GA 400 FROM ATLANTA: From I-285, take GA 400 to Hwy 369 exit. Turn left and go 12 miles to Yellow Creek Road. Turn right and follow to the end. Turn right, go ¼ mile to Steve Tate Highway. Turn left and go 1.5 miles to the main entrance of Big Canoe.
VIA I-75 FROM CHATTANOOGA: Take I-75 south toward Atlanta. Exit 312 (Highway 53) through Jasper to Marble Hill (approximately 45 miles). On Highway 53 in Marble Hill, turn left onto Steve Tate Highway. Follow Steve Tate Highway for 1.5 miles to entrance of Big Canoe on left.
VIA I-85 FROM GREENVILLE
Take I-85 from Greenville south toward Atlanta. Take exit 129 Hwy 53 west toward Gainesville. Follow Hwy 53 through Gainesville heading west toward Dawsonville. After crossing GA 400, you will continue on Hwy 53 through Dawsonville for approximately 16 miles. Take a right onto Steve Tate Hwy, and go approximately 1.5 miles. The entrance to Big Canoe will be on the left.
