Beautiful ocean views, amazing sunsets, working lobster pound, lobster fishing boats – all can be seen from this one-of-a-kind location! We are located on a very quiet road, surrounded on three sides by the ocean.
Our upstairs, open-concept garage apartment has access through the garage itself (the garage is neat - we don't keep vehicles there.) The apartment touts a complete kitchen with gas range, full size refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, and dishwasher. Dishes and cookware are available if you choose to eat in. Adequate space for dining is at the bar and also a small table for two that overlooks the lobster pound and ocean. There is a bathroom with a shower only (towels provided.) A washer and dryer are available for your convenience, as well as ample closet space. The comfortable living room is a great place to unwind and watch TV or just relax with a good book. There is a queen size bed downstairs and a queen size mattress and twin mattress in the loft upstairs. The loft is cozy, but it’s not a space where someone can stand completely upright. The views from the apartment are spectacular and there’s the opportunity to see more as you step out the door. Because this is a lobster fishing community, you will clearly see fishermen coming and going in their boats from our property. You also are welcome to walk around our family’s lobster pound which is directly beside the garage. Our guests are invited to use the bench and table made from lobster traps that sit on the left side of the lobster pound. The most spectacular sunsets are visible here as you fill your lungs with crisp, ocean air!
Beals is connected to Jonesport by a new bridge. As you cross the bridge, you will notice the span of ocean and the many lobster boats moored on either side of the shore. Jonesport has a grocery store, pizza shop and a couple of convenience stores with gas – all just minutes from the Mill Pond Apartment.
A short distance from the apartment is the Seaduck Point walking trail (guests can even walk to the trail from the apartment.) The Beals Town Park is a lovely spot as well as the Great Wass Island Preserve, which offers wonderful trails. Beals is close proximity to Jonesport’s Sandy River Beach, Roque Bluffs and the Machias Bold Coast. Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor and Campbello Island can easily be day trips.
