Muricciaglia is a treasured family estate, an authentic 500 year old complex of rural dwellings surrounded by 60 hectares of immaculately well-kept woods of Mediterranean oak trees, olive groves and vineyards. This exclusive oasis of peace, beauty and comfort, lies just a few hundred meters off the road from Castellina in Chianti to Radda in Chianti.
Ideally located between Florence and Siena (each within a 45-minute drive), it is not only a great place where to unwind, relax with family & friends and enjoy splendid views on the surrounding hills but it is also a fantastic location from which to explore Tuscany.

The property is composed of a main house, two guest houses (all with air-conditioned bedrooms) and a gated private infinity pool.
Above the main doorway of the main house, the date 1437 etched in stone is a testimony of its important heritage as a lookout tower guarding the passage between Florence and Siena. The old stone walls are a beautiful backdrop to the dining loggia outside the Tuscan kitchen and to the modern seating area shaded by a sail, set between the main house and one of the guest houses (called 'Ovile', once the sheep stable). In the late afternoons and in the evenings, as the sun goes down, this is where everyone shares their day’s experience exploring the many towns and villages that are within easy reach.
The second guest house (called 'Fienile', once the hay barn) is located above the main house, past a couple of terraces, and nearest to the private infinity-edge swimming pool.
While, both guest houses (100 m² each) have a small kitchen and a sitting room, as well as their very own shaded outside areas, the main house (200 m²) has a great eat-in Tuscan kitchen as well as a large dining room and two sitting rooms.
The pool, which is 5 metres wide and 13 metres long, is open from May till the end of September. It is set on a paved terrace with a gate for added child security, furnished with loungers and lots of shade from where to enjoy the hot Tuscan summer days.
The estate has a very well kept private drive that leads to the main house and guest houses. At the very top, without impeding anyone’s privacy, resides the estate’s caretaker who ensures the perfect maintenance of the pool, gardens and of the 500 year old buildings.
The main house can accommodate up to 6 people in 3 beautiful double/twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The Guest House (Ovile) and the Pool House (Fienile) can both accommodate 4 people, as they have 2 beautiful double/twin rooms and 2 bathrooms each. Thus the property can comfortably welcome up to 14 people and be prepared according to the guests' preferred bed configuration/layout for everyone’s comfort and privacy.
Each one of the buildings that compose the property benefits of independent heating system, separate laundry room as well as dishwasher, working fireplace and BBQ area.
Muricciaglia is positioned in the heart of the Chianti region. Beyond the very pretty town of Castellina in Chianti, which is just a few minutes’ drive away, other towns and villages - Panzano in Chianti, Greve in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti and San Gimignano - are all within an easy drive.
Numerous sophisticated restaurants are in the vicinity which, together with local markets and the many wineries with cantinas open for tastings, provide a dream location for food and wine aficionados.
