Positive: Assingar island was a very nice find. Very quiet & authentic although a little remote. Ahmed with his welcoming & kind attitude made us all feel very comfortable. He helped us throughout our stay with his boat and ordered a very nice transfert to Abu Simbel. The food was good.
Negative: Overall it was a very nice stay but be aware there is nothing else but the hotel on the island so if you need anything, be prepared to bring it over with you. Also, there is no AC yet so with the brick roof, it felt like sleeping in a warm oven as we couldn't open the windows for fresh air because of mosquitoes. But we discussed it with the owner who will try to address the problem. Also it is missing something to make coffee or tea in the bedroom. Last, it is not always clear what is included and what is not (like for breakfast only tea is included not coffee) would be nice to make it clearer to avoid misunderstandings.
