Positive: The location was great. It is a little walk from downtown but away from the craziness of downtown. The site is gated and never felt unsafe walking alone to town. On days I didn't feel like walking, they were able to arrange for transport with no problems. Breakfast was good, and other meals are available on request. Hanan is an incredible chef and was willing to teach me to cook Swahili food while I was there. They treated me like family and took care of anything I needed. The building is nice, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Abdul and his family are welcoming and friendly and will help you book any excursions or other arrangements you need. They arranged trips to Wasini Island where they have family and extensive knowledge of the history and sites, as well as a diving and snorkeling trip to the marine park.
Negative: They are still working on the accommodations, so there were a few inconveniences that they are addressing now and should be resolved soon. They rely on a generator for power but have solar being installed soon, so this will no longer be a problem. I think this location is only going to get better over time, as they are working hard on it and I look forward to coming back to see all the improvements.
