Positive: The location was great- very close to the beach, shops and everything you could need as a family. The house itself was big and spacious, allowing us plenty of room for the kids to run around and play and also for the adults to feel we had enough space for ourselves whilst still staying together. Having a lot of rooms with Queen bed options was great, as so many other properties like this are filled with too many bunks which makes it harder for adults to share. Key collection and drop off was easy (even out of hours on a weekend) and there was plenty of communication from the host agency before we checked in to provide lots of details.
Negative: We had a lot of feedback for this property and I'll list the things that we were NOT happy with: -Linen hire service for sheets and towels- this is fine HOWEVER- when we arrived, the green bags full of linen were sitting downstairs with no notes or info about it. It wasn't until we got upstairs to the fridge to read about how to 'clean up' the linen at the end of the stay that we figured out the linen downstairs must have been our clean stuff. It was up to us as the guests to divide the linen into each room and make the beds ourselves- would have been much better service if someone had, at the very least, put the right bedding in the bags into each bedroom and some towels in the bathroom etc. Another thing about the linen- its only bottom and top sheets and some pillow cases that are serviced. The rest of the bedding was cheap Kmart doona covers and pillow cases- so it was very unclear if this bedding had actually been cleaned or not- we doubted it was at all based on how it was left when we arrived. Some of the pillow inserts smelt sweaty and stale too. -When we arrived, there was a dirty pan left out that hadn't been cleaned, a lot of the furniture was broken (a random broken pot plant sitting in the corner, all the buttons broken off the couch, couch pillows were mouldy and gross so we had to take them off the couch). -The property sleeps 10 people- but there are only enough seats at the dining table for 8 and the couch area definitely only would seat 4-5 adults comfortably. -No BBQ- this would have been a welcome addition, as the cooktop was induction and was very difficult to use. We spent ages trying to get it working, before we finally found the appliance manual in a bottom drawer. -Only communication in the house was lists of rules. No welcome book with how to use things or local notes for places to eat, etc. that would have been a welcome addition.
